About Family Dinner

Family Dinner came about in the most unexpected of ways through conversations with my best friends, who also happen to be my neighbors. A topic kept popping up: friends not having the time, skills, or desire to cook, but caring deeply about the quality of food they served their families. What started as a joke — "Hey Lindsey, can you please just double whatever you're making and feed my family too?" — grew into a real business.

I am not a professionally-trained chef, just a mom who was itching to find meaningful work, cares about sitting around the dinner table together, and is insistent that everyone eats the same dinner — no special kid food! My girls are 8 and 10 and have to approve meals before they make it to the Family Dinner lineup. I'm personally happiest with a meal in a bowl, which is why you'll find many of those on my menu.

The things that my friends and customers tell me stand out about Family Dinner are: 1) it's homemade, made fresh that day, 2) the whole family approves, 3) it's hot and ready to serve, 4) portions are generous, and 5) pick up is convenient.

I like to think of Family Dinner as more of a community than a business. Our family talks often about how special it is that so many of our friends are gathering around a dinner table together eating the exact same thing we are. My prayer for your families is just that — more quality time together around the table than you might have otherwise had on busy weeknights.

Thank you for being a part of this community!
